"Love is giving everything you've got...and wishing you had more to give."

...Yes. So...apologies if any of you liked the original better...the image quality was very, very poor (thus the reason I couldn't offer a larger image originally) and I wanted to reshoot with better lighting and a macro lens.

I got rid of the very simple, muted background, but I think I'm gonna bring it back when I eventually redo it (yes, again). I won't give up til I get it *perfect* - thanks so much to all those who've commented and +fav'ed. And, let me know which version you prefer if you are so inclined.

The other version was very nice, but I think I like the ferns better.

Yes, I liked the old design better. Unfortunately, you forgot the one rule all artists should understand: Simpler is better. Having the green background is too much and takes my eye away from the roses. Because of the green, I barely notice the red and white.

I'm actually inclined to agree. At this point though I'm not even sure I want to do it again because to be honest, I really dislike the whole image and am bored to death of the concept, which I don't think was exactly one of my most inspired moments anyway. Secretly, this is one of the pieces I am least proud of. And go figure, it's the one everyone likes. Ah well. I do appreciate the honest critique though and perhaps will get it right once and for all before the end.
